BTC? bitcoin? bits? satoshi?

Wondering how many bits are in a bitcoin? Or how many satoshis are in a bitcoin? Here’s the answer. Bitcoin has been around a while and at first it was just called Bitcoin (or BTC).

1 BTC (bitcoin)
= 1,000,000 bits
= 100,000,000 satoshi

1 bit
= 0.000001 BTC (bitcoin)
= 100 satoshis

1 satoshi
= 0.00000001 BTC (bitcoin)
= 0.01 bits

A Satoshi is the smallest fraction of a Bitcoin that can currently be sent: 0.00000001 BTC.

1 Satoshi = 0.00000001 Bitcoin
10 Satoshi = 0.0000001 Bitcoin
100 Satoshi = 0.000001 Bitcoin
1000 Satoshi = 0.00001 Bitcoin
10000 Satoshi = 0.0001 Bitcoin
100000 Satoshi = 0.001 Bitcoin
1000000 Satoshi = 0.01 Bitcoin
10000000 Satoshi = 0.1 Bitcoin
100000000 Satoshi =  1 Bitcoin
