Text links can be great for contextual affiliate marketing and offer affiliates a chance to intermix their affiliate links into the content on the web page. Text links that are part of the content of your site will generally do better than banners or other text links.
Don’t just add a single text link, or use the same text link on each page. Instead, work smart by adding a variety of different types of text links on different pages.

Don’t put up a list of your favorite ebooks, hoping people will click on the affiliate link and purchase the books just because you listed them. Take some time to write a detailed review, and use affiliate ads to point them in the right direction.

Loyal readers will appreciate your opinion and buy the product, using your affiliate link. A good review includes pros and cons, and comparisons to other products in the niche.
One of the best ways to convince a person to go and buy our product is to recommend the product to them. When you make a recommendation, or do a review, they’re more likely to take that advice that someone who has give arrived from a search engine link. The link at the end of the review resulted in more conversions than the link at the top.
The easiest and most natural context for an affiliate product is something that most have these days, a blog – especially if you already have a following. If readers have come to trust you and your recommendations, they will consider purchasing a product you endorse.
Create an affiliate policy and be transparent
If you are a blogger in the U.S. and you are making money in any way, or if you are receiving free products or services for giveaways, reviews or the like, you should be concerned about this issue and you should make sure you are properly disclosing in your posts.
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requires all affiliate marketers to clearly disclose all affiliate links. This means that if you have affiliate links on your site, you MUST be transparent about it! Not doing it can get you into BIG TROUBLE!
